One more thing....

My cousin Paul sent out an email this morning saying he is waiting on my last blog to put in his Baby pool bet. It reminded me that I didn't really post about the last couple of ultrasounds I have had. We had one 3 weeks ago and got a great profile picture of the baby. It wasn't 3-D but with the baby being so big it was a really close pic of the face. Well, Scott swears the Baby's profile resembles his. Although I think they were very similar I told him not to put all his faith in that one picture. Then two weeks later we had another ultrasound that my Dad, Patti and Randi came too. I think they really enjoyed it and of course had some comments. My Dad said he is sticking with Boy and yes unfortunately looks to resemble Scott a little...ha! Patti said a face that pretty has to be a girl and Randi said she is now thinking girl. I personally think it's hard to determine the sex by looking a picture of the Baby's face on an ultrasound. That's just my opinion. So, there you go Paul Fitte that's your last clue!

Oh and we are going to have a special visitor in the delivery room. Farrah (Paul's) wife works in labor and delivery at East Jefferson. Although she is off that day, she is coming in just to be in the delivery room with us. It will be great to have her there and I know I will take comfort in her being with us. Thanks Farrah!!!

Getting Closer!

The Last Stretch......Well this is it, I am 37 weeks and time is closing in on us. Soon we will be parents. Well actually in a week and a half we will be, unless the Baby decides to come earlier. If you don't already know I am scheduled for a C-Section on August 3rd. The baby has decided to keep it's head up by my ribs and not get into the position it's suppose to be in. Maybe Stubborn already! I went to the doctor today, everything was good and I am not dilated at all. Oh and the heart rate was 135 this time. It's been in the 150-160 range but now is playing tricks on us.
Dr. Kennedy commented well it's pretty laid back today. I was thinking today, it's laid back everyday. Just like it's Daddy! So, what are we thinking at this point??? We are talking about what's the Baby's going to look like, how big, if it will have hair and of course what is the sex! I told Scott before I go in I feel like I will be able to say this is what I think the gender will be.
I feel like my instincts will be in high gear....maybe! I am hoping the Baby will somewhat resemble me. All the babies these days look so much like the Dad's. If I carried it for over 9 months I want it to have something of mine. We are getting a little nervous, just about being new parents and all the responsibility. I am not really nervous about the delivery, yet. If my water broke tonight we would be happy, now that I am so close and know that I need a C-Section, I just wish it would happen.
Well until then, I guess I will enjoy my last moments of freedom. I would say I will enjoy all my sleep but honestly the past two months I haven't slept that great. Also, if you are wondering about names we have a couple for each sex. For a Boy we have Gavin and Blake. For a Girl we have Blair and Elissa. We hope everyone can be there to share in this special experience with Scott and I. If you can't we will email pictures as soon as we can.

8 Months Pregnant and Only 8 Weeks to Go

So this week I am going to be 8 months pregnant, must I say again how fast time has gone by. I think we have been so busy which has made it go by even faster. Besides having parties and family events every weekend, building the house has also kept us busy. Scott has been out there everyday and I have been busy picking out all the interior stuff. Of course with the help of my talented Sister. We are thinking we will be moved in earlier than we thought, maybe early September.
We are really excited and can't wait to be back in Lakeview again. Not to mention I will only be 5 minutes from work.

Last weekend I had my Baby Shower which was really nice. It was at Wasabi Sushi Restaurant in Lakeview, one of my favorite restaurants. My Sister, Mom, Patti, Mrs. Lisa, Nana and Jaime put a lot of thought and work into it. It was very unique and we had a great time. Baby Corne got lots of great gifts. The shower basically reiterated that I didn't have too much longer, this Baby is coming soon. This weekend the furniture is coming in and I will be able to set up all of the Baby's stuff. I can't wait to put the bedding on and see how it all comes together. Of course it will all come together to be taken down shortly when we move!

So, at 8 months how am I feeling now? Well you can say I still love being pregnant, I am happy but feeling more pregnant these days. My feet have started to swell and this New Orleans Summer Heat can wear you down. I have vowed to never be this far along in the summer again. I will make the best of it though....
My weight gain is at 17 pounds, which I am ok with and will be going back to the doctor on June 30th. We will also be having an ultrasound which will give us some indication on how big the baby is right now. Honestly I will be surprised if Baby Corne is going to be bigger than 7lbs when He/She delivers. For some reason I think it's going to be a little peanut. I know one thing, the Baby is constantly on my right side and up in my ribs. I think He/She has found a comfortable position.

Next Blog will be after my next doctors visit and I will be happy to report what we saw in the ultrasound as far as activity...for those of you thinking we are going to cave and find out. Nope! You still have to wait until August 10th....

6 1/2 Months Already....

Today is Sunday May 10th, which is significant for two reasons. It's Mother's Day which is very exciting because it's my first "official". It's also marks 3 months until my due date of August 10th, as of tomorrow I will already be in my 3rd trimester. This is it I told Scott....where has the time gone? I guess feeling great and having it pretty easy has made it fly by. Oh and I think the anxiety of not knowing the sex of Baby Corne might of had something to do with it.

Well in the next 3 months we will have to start getting ready for the baby's arrival. The nursery isn't set up yet...the Furniture is ordered and should be coming in next month. The bedding is in but sitting at The Baby's Room in Metairie, until after my shower. If I must say so myself the bedding is really nice. Very modern, actually not too baby at all. Looks like something I would have on my bed. Most people know I am pretty modern and although it will be in a Baby's Room, I am not all about Baby looking stuff. The colors are black and tan, it's called Modern Fern. It has Fern leaves, stripes, etc on it. I will post pics once it's all set up in the room. I went and registered last weekend with Randi and Jaime at Babies R Us. It took 2 hours and was honestly pretty exhausting. It was great to have them tell me what I need, I would have been lost without them. We actually had a pretty fun time!!

We broke ground on the house last week and that has been pretty exciting. Scott has been out there, getting it all going. Working with my Dad now, he is pretty much going to be building his first house. They are all going to be teaching him a long the way and I think honestly he is going to love it as much as they all do/ He is pretty happy with his job and I think he is really enjoying this new adventure. I will post pics of the progress in the next couple of months.

We will be having a pretty busy May and June, next time I post I will have a lot more pics to share. We are going to have Parties, Vacation and my Shower. I am looking forward to it all.

Happy Mother's Day to all the great Women in my Life!!!

Halfway There!!!!

So I am now 21 weeks and can't believe that I am more than halfway there. To be honest the first half was pretty easy but I heard the last kicks your butt, so maybe I need to prepare myself. I am still enjoying being pregnant and have had some great things happen. On Friday March 20th while sitting down at work talking to a co-worker I felt the baby kick for the first time. It was very exciting and almost surreal. It took the third time in a row for the baby to kick to really believe that's what was happening. It was so exciting and such a feeling I will never forget.
On Monday March 23rd, I had my 20 week visit at the doctors office. We were accompanied by my Mom, Mrs. Lisa and Hayden(Scott and I's niece).
They did the whole anatomy of the baby and everything was great. All organs are working properly. The ultra sound tech did have a couple of funny comments for us. The baby has a big head and is pretty laid back...if you ask me it sounds like my husband. Ha! This would have been the visit where we could have found out the sex and even though the Mom's were hoping we would cave, we didn't. I honestly was ok with not finding out, Scott on the other hand was a little more anxious. My Mom and Mrs. Lisa really enjoyed the visit and we were so happy to have them there.
So....what does everyone think the sex is, you might ask??? Honestly, most people think it's a Boy. Mrs. Lisa and Mom thinks it's a Boy, not because they saw anything. They just had that feeling. Scott thinks it's a Boy because that's what he wants. My Dad saw the ultrasound and said that's a Boy's face, how he know that I will never know. He had 2 Girls! I think it's everyone wishing. So, what do I think since I am the Mother carrying this Baby? I honestly have No Idea! What I want it to be is a GIRL we all know that!!!

Other than that I am doing great with a 6 pound weight gain and people commenting how I am still not showing that much. I was worried at first when people said it but now that the baby is good,I will take that as a compliment. I am not ready to blow yet as my sister Randi would say....

16 Weeks and Counting....

I am now 16 weeks and counting...Pretty exciting we think!!! So, I am sure if you are reading this blog you want to know what's going on. Well, we had an ultrasound last Tuesday February 17th. The baby was doing great, actually doing squats and had it's hands behind the hand like it was doing crunches. Scott was just in heaven exclaiming "he has to be a Boy working out just like him!" I thought it was pretty funny that he was so sure the baby was a Boy when the ultrasound tech couldn't even tell what the sex was. I was just happy everything was Great!
On Saturday I celebrated my first pregnant Mardi Gras Parade, Endymion. I have to admit I was pretty bummed out that I couldn't drink. I normally don't care about not going out and drinking. Something about not being able to drink for Mardi Gars bothered me, I was kind of cranky. If you can't believe it ask Scott he will tell you..ha! The parade was nice and I did enjoy seeing most of my family and friends. It was great to see Raegan and Joe Joe really enjoying catching all the beads and toys they could. I also had a great time with Hayden at her first Mardi Gras, she was definately fascinated with all the sites. Not too mention she was an Angel.
I have posted some pictures for everyone to see of our day at the parade, along with a picture of me at 15 weeks and my ultrasound.
Oh and in case your wondering if I am showing, I do have a little pooch, my jeans are getting a little snug but I am proud to say I have only gained 2 pounds. I am comfortable saying it now but don't ask me in 4 months. I will be going back to the doctor on February 23rd for another ultrasound. They will check the anotomy of the baby to make sure everything is functioning properly. I will keep you posted with more updates soon. Also, on my blog I added a Vote button. You can Vote on if you think we are having a Boy or Girl. You know what I think...Girl!

My First 10 Weeks

I was going to do a blog on my first 8 weeks but since the 10 week mark was so significat for us I wanted to mark it. The reason this is such a big day is because at 9 1/2-10 weeks was when I miscarried. Today when I went to the doctor, Scott and I were so relieved to hear our Baby's heart beat. The doctor said it was fast and strong, a great sign. I think we both breathed a little when he said that. These last 10 weeks have been very stressful for me, I have constantly worried about what was going to happen. It was hard for me to enjoy any of it. I had been a little sick but not complaining, to me that is a good sign. Pretty tired most of the time, going to bed a little earlier. All in all it's been ok, other than my nerves. We are still on target for August 13th but I am sure that will change in time. Ia m going to start reading my pregnany books again and I have actually been writing in a baby journal Randi had given me.

Oh and for those of you that don't know, we are NOT finding out the sex of the baby. It was something that Scott really wanted to do, I was unsure. Then my cousin Paul and his wife Farrah decided not to find out and after talking to them they convinced me that it was really exciting not to. So, guess what??? All of you are going to have to wait until August to find out what this baby is. Don't worry just think about how exciting it will be at the Hospital.....
